# Knowledge graph (https://docs.ctxpipe.ai/docs/workspaces/graph)

The **Graph** tab shows the knowledge graph of the current Workspace. Each node
is a knowledge file, and each edge comes from a link or a claim in those files.
See [Knowledge files](/docs/workspaces/knowledge-files). The knowledge that
ctxpipe extracts from linked code is in knowledge files too, so it is in the
graph. The graph shows after the first index of the Workspace. While ctxpipe
builds it, the tab shows **Graph, building**.

Because the graph is built from files, you fix it by fixing files: correct a
claim, add a link, or set `kind`, then push. The graph updates when the
Workspace re-indexes.

## Read the graph

* Nodes are colored by `kind` and sized by how connected they are.
* Edges are links (`LINKS_TO`) and claims (`DEPENDS_ON`, `PART_OF`, `OWNS`,
  and so on).
* The activity timeline groups relationships by when they became valid. Drag
across it to filter the graph to a time range.

Use the canvas controls to zoom, reset the view, pause or play the layout,
lasso-select a group of nodes, or capture a screenshot.

## Inspect a node

Click a node to open its details:

* **Path**: the file behind the node. **Go to definition** opens it in the
**Files** tab; **Copy path** copies it.
* **Summary**, **Connections**, and **Strongest connections**.
* **Predicates** and **Neighbor kinds**: what kinds of relationships and
  nodes surround it.
* **Activity**: when its relationships were valid.

A node with few or no connections is often a stub or a stale unit worth
reviewing.

Lasso-select several nodes to see a summary of the selection: node and edge
counts, kinds, and predicates.

## Treat the graph as a guide

The graph shows what the files claim. Confidence and dates help you decide
where to look, but they are not proof. Before acting on an important
relationship, open the file and the source it points to.
